Merlin 8"

Merlin 8"

A British Pagan interpretation of the much-loved Archmage, Merlin is a shamanic figure who honors the earth. He is seen here as the guardian of the land and reminds us of our connection with nature and our sacred trust to protect our endangered world. One of the first names for Britain was "Merlin's enclosure." He holds his dragon-headed staff and wears a cloak of leaves (some traditions say feathers) surrounded by the flora and fauna of the forest.
Moonlight complexion, black hair; handpainted Gypsumstone.

Druid Wizard 5"

Druid Wizard 5"

Druid Priests (and perhaps Priestesses) stood for generations as the great guardians of wisdom and knowledge. They were astronomers, teachers, wizards, lawgivers and shapeshifters. Some believe they were the Magi of the middle east, who traveled west with the great migrations into the Isles. Druidic powers were often expressed through their solid stillness and confidence in their abilities and advanced wizardry. It was the Druids who anointed the High Kings of Ireland, and assured that the Queen's choice of a High King was fulfilled.

The symbol of the Druids' wisdom has become an inspiration to male witch and wizards in many western traditions. He represents Magick rightly used, strength through skill and learning, mastery of craft, and authority born of respect. The staff of authority is a symbol as old as time, and represents solid accomplishment in both spiritual and physical matters.
